Living on Baby Time

That's what were doing right now and it's the name of the Christmas ornament I want to get the baby this year at Hallmark. I thought it would be neat to post Christopher's schedule of late, to look back on and compare and to keep other's updated.
8:30am Gets up and is dressed
9:00 Fed
10-11 Morning nap
11:30 Feeding
12-1:30pm Play time, tummy time, holding time (usually gets fussy), feeding
2-4 Long afternoon nap (a must or he'll be cranking all day, for me it's get as many chores done as possible)
4pm Feeding
4:30-5 Walk with the dog, more play time/tummy time
7 Small rice cereal meal
7:30 Bath
8 Storytime and rocking/singing time
8:30 Feeding
11:30 Bed
However, as with any baby this is all very subject to change (he usually eats more than is indicated), but I try to stick to it as much as possible. Strangely enough this schedule seems really good for him and if a lot differs he'll get irratiated. I surprised by how much he is a "scheduled baby" because there are some babies who really don't take to one or are very adaptable. I know alot of Mom's with little ones read my blog and I'd love to hear about your rountines or lack thereof! LOL! So be free to comment or offer ideas, etc.

  1. Hmm...we aren't quite as scheduled, but usually Tommy wakes up somewhere between 7am and 9am and eats. He'll be awake for an hour or a little more and then nap. Between lunch and dinner he'll take 2 or 3 45 minute naps. He seems to go to bed for the night around 9:45 and wakes up at least once during the night.Wow I am tired just typing that out. I left this out, but he eats a lot! :)

  2. yeah Joseph was never really on a schedule until like 6-8 months of age. I guess the real big thing we wanted to do was a bed time routing because he would always get to bed so late and John and I never had "alone time" which is really important. So we bit the bullet and at 6 months or so we started doing cereal, bathtime, feeding, bed (and being put down AWAKE but sleepy was KEY) The first week was hard and he would cry to sleep but then it was all over and it has BEEN AWESOME!

  3. My youngest two are 2 1/2 now but I remember as infants we always had them on a two hour rotation. Depending on wake up time it would be two hours up eating and playing then two hours nap then two hours up and second nap. Usually second nap was done at 4pm and baby would be up until 7. We always worked to the 7pm naptime. Maybe after thee months.
I remember early on it would be a late bedtime but we slowly moved it further and further back until we got to 7.

    You'll get there sometime.
