Packing

The following post was written before I had Andrew and scheduled to post on my blog on the 28th. Reading it now makes me laugh because it was written the night I went into labor.
If you're reading this post we're in the process of moving from our house to our new house. We're so excited for this move, but have kept quiet about it since we didn't have an exact move in date. December 28, 2009 we move in! Thankfully, before baby #2 arrives. Right now (December 12th) I'm in the process of packing up our little house which I find as I pack is not that little! As I was taking down the pictures from the nursery walls it made me sad. I couldn't help thinking that this was the house and room we brought Christopher home to. Now he is a big 15mo old flipping through books on the floor as I pack. This is the house where we've spent the first 2yrs of our marriage and have had so many 1st's. Our 1st Christmas, Easter, Wedding Anniversary, 1st baby and found out we'd welcome a 2nd baby. It's full of so many memories!

This house feels like our home and it will be strange living in a new house, but this new house will be our "forever" home (a term my good friend uses, meaning a house you can live in forever if you wanted/had to). Our new house will be a house we can expand our family in (it's a four bedroom, two and a half bathroom house) and the place where our children will grow up.

The following was written on December 26.
We're beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel with packing. Tonight is the last night I'll be sleeping in our 1st house. I have a mix of emotions: exhausted, excited, overwhelmed at all that lies ahead, anxious about this hectic process coming to an end, etc. Anyone that's ever moved knows how crazy packing everything can be, it's like your life is being turned upside down. On top of that we have a new baby (and a 15mo old) and all of this is taking place over the holidays. Thankfully, my family has been so helpful, as well as friends who have helped pack and offered to unpack. For now I'm just trying to focus on the end result of everything; moving into our new home which is a great blessing. We are so fortunate to have received so many blessings this year.

  1. Congratulations!! It is beautiful! and I cannot wait to get a tour and see how you decorate. I really like the brick and think that the stone curb is very pretty. -LR
