Wonderful Weekend

Ever have one of those weekends that was so good you keep thinking about it all week? This past weekend was that way for me. Saturday we went to Home Depot for the kid's workshop (every 1st Saturday and it's free). Christopher made a wooden planter with a little plant. Chris and the boys hit up the park while I food shopped (they are right across from each other) and I think that's what will do for the rest of the summer. I get it done without the distraction of the kids and the kids get to play (read: get good and tired for an afternoon nap). They took a LONG nap while Chris and I got done some yard work and watched episodes of The Twilight Zone:0  We went to another park in the afternoon, had a BBQ for dinner, and our 1st family movie night! As a belated birthday gift, Chris got a month of Netflix (only $10)! Hence how we were able to watch Toy Story 3 with the kids.
Sunday we went to Point to Point at the Winterthur Museum in Delaware. It's similar to the Kentucky Derby with horse races, fox hunting, old fashioned cars, fruity drinks, picnicking and crafts for kids. We went with my family and packed a picnic lunch, then roamed around to the different stations with crafts and free giveaways.
A view of the tents and picnickers. This event is really popular for hats, so my sisters and I took advantage!
They had lots of hats for sale too.
The kids liked watching the races and carriages go by.
I LOVE this picture of my sister holding Christopher!
They had "horse" races for kids. Christopher did the competition with kids 4 and under. He didn't come anywhere near winning, but was SO proud of himself.
They had a collection of Rolls Royce cars (you couldn't go in any), but so cool.
I'm just enjoying family time so much now that the boys are old enough to walk and play with each other. They are so cute right now and they say EVERYTHING! Haha!

  1. <3 ToyStory 3. Chris got it for me for Christmas. Yeah, maybe it's a lil embarassing b/c we don't have kids, but I'm a sucker for Pixar! <3 Netflix too, oh and the pics of you and your sisters in the hats are so cute! I'd never be able to pull it off but you all look so classy!

  3. Netflix is worth the price. We have been subscribers for years now and fully take advantage. We have the $10/month plan which gets us one disk at a time and as much online streaming (which you can do on the wii) as you want.

Looks like you all had great fun.

  4. So adorable and fun!

I am visiting my sis in NJ soon and I so want to take the kids to Winterthur! I took my babysitting kids there years ago. They have an awesome fairy garden. :)
