I'm Excited About This!

Our new kitchen table and chairs (we're only getting 6 chairs) are coming this week! We'll finally be able to get rid of my parent's hand-me-down set for one that fits our decor better. We're passing our current kitchen table set (from my parents) to my sister who just got married. She has big plans to paint/refinish it and I'll have her do a post with the finished product. The mahogany and black match our dining room furniture and our kitchen cabinets are mahogany. I promise pictures of it in our kitchen once it comes. I'll let you in on a secret too...I plan to use the table top for newborn photo shoots by putting my backdrop against the end of the table :)

  2. Cute! Can't wait to see the pics. Doesn't it feel so good to work hard and get things for your place bit by bit? I still fight the urge to get everything all at once, but each little new addition brings with it a sense of accomplishment.

  3. There's still so much we need to get/do it can get overwhelming. We've both been able to pick up some extra work this summer, so we could swing getting the table. We also found it online for $500 cheaper than we saw it in the store and scored free shipping!

  4. It is beautiful! We haven't bought a piece of furniture for over a year now with all the home improvement projects (read $ spent) we have had here with the home. When we move I am looking forward to being able to save up for a few pieces that would be helpful to us. Next up for us is a bed for Mia, and I am greatly debating getting another crib to save space for our small place out in CA.

When you get new couches would you ever consider recliners, chaise or ottomans?

  5. L.R. -All your home projects came out great! Bed situations can be the most tricky. Maybe get a crib that converts to a bed (full bed)? That way you have some opinions.

We're holding off on couches in the family room because the kids give them such a beating. However, I know exactly what we want. With our strange room set up, I'm planning on getting a wrap around couch to go where we have the existing couch and cover some of the window seat area that faces the TV. We want the one end to a have a chaise lounge for sure. I'd also like to do either two chairs or an arm chair. No ottoman (although I like them) because our furniture collection sells a coffee table/chest that I love. I loved your fabric on your couches! Did you have a hard time with fabric type/pattern selections?
