Stone Harbor 2011

We just got back from our week long vacation at the NJ shore. It was a mishap free trip! We don't live far and hit no traffic either way. We traveled light, only one suitcase and a duffel bag.
It's become a tradition to stop and eat at Uncle Bill's Pancake House when we first arrive.
We shopped downtown and visited this toy store several times. The boys love it because you can touch/play with everything in the store.
Of course we took a trip to the local park...
and got ice cream many nights :)
Went to the beach every day usually from 10am-12pm. Chris and I aren't huge beach people, so a few hours a day was enough for us.
They were very into building "castles" and splashing in holes.
We dropped by OC's Wonderland one night. That has also become a tradition for us. The rides are cheap and there's lots of shops on the boardwalk.
We took beach pictures one night of the kids with their cousins that stay with us. I tried my best. They are all under 4. Ages: 3 (my niece), 2 (Christopher), 1 (Andrew) and 0 (my nephew) and as you can see the boys outnumber the girl :0
At least I got good individual shots.
We're so thankful to Chris' mom who let's us stay with her for the week! Where/when do you go on vacation?

  2. We always go to the Outer Banks in NC with Jason's family and family friends. We weren't going to go this year, but the trip was pushed to August because friends of Jason's family are getting married there this weekend. We're so excited to take Elliott on his first vacation, even if he won't really do 'vacation' things. Glad you had such a nice trip. I love the Jersey shore.

  11. I didn't manage to get one picture of myself the whole trip! Ugh, so annoying since I dressed up every night too.

We packed one large suitcase of all of our clothes and the duffel was towels. It was a little easier going "light" in the summer. We took sandals so we didn't need to pack socks. I packed clothes that could be mix and matched. I save free toiletries from hotels during the year and pack exactly what we need so we finish them all off before we leave and can toss the bottles :)
