The Unofficial End of Summer

This post is the last of our summer fun for the season. We spent Labor Day weekend Bethany Beach, DE with my family. The weather was PERFECT, but a little too chilly for the pool. We had a mini b-day party for Christopher since my family couldn't make his in Lancaster. We ordered this cake from the local supermarket and it came out so cool!
The train was our own, I just cleaned it and put it on the cake.
We went to the boardwalk at Rehoboth Beach one night. They have Funland on the boardwalk which is really similar to Wonderland in OCNJ. Basically, a mini amusement park for kids. It was only $20 for 100 tickets and no ride takes more than 5 tickets.
This ride was super fast and went both forward and backward so Chris had to ride with Christopher.
Okay, when you see the picture below you're going to think I'm the worst parent ever!:0 We were getting ready to leave and wanted to get rid of our last tickets and the Haunted Mansion took 5 tickets per person. Christopher was SCARED to death! I think this picture sums it up pretty well...

We sampled lots of candy at the Candy Kitchen (you could mix up to 3 different candies for 1/4 of a pound for only $2.50) and we got funnel cake.

We also went to one of the beaches to see the wild horses.
We've had such a wonderful summer! Looking forward to another great season; my favorite one fall.

  1. I want to make a trip to see the wild horses this fall!! Great photos! And I don't think you are a horrible mother for the Haunted ride. Ryan and I made Jared do rides that we knew would scare him at Water Country USA because we wanted to ride them. A little fear makes a kid a little stronger and then they have really cool things to tell their friends! :) Your summer of blog posts were amazing! I look forward to your fall posts!
