Tiny Dancer

There's so many updates I have to give about everything; I'm trying! I have posts of each of the boys in draft, coming soon:) First I wanted to post these pictures and give a little recovery, breastfeeding, baby update.
This picture was on the back of the baby announcement :)
Baby: She's a good baby. If I had to describe her in one word, content. She's getting up 2-3 times a night to eat, but goes right back to sleep. She hardly ever cries. Last checked she was 6lbs 15ozs. I think she looks like both of the boys when they were babies.
Nursing: Has been really easy. I think part of it is that she's a great eater and the other part is that I've had experience. I did had a difficult time with Andrew (getting him to latch), but I persisted and I ended up nursing him for 6 months. I'm hoping to nurse her till she's at least 6-9 months old.
*Note: Some medical issues discussed here. Recovery: I seem to have recovery difficulties (easy deliveries though). I had bleeding issues after Andrew and had a worse episode this time about five days ago. I'd been taking it super easy this time since I knew I was predisposed to having problems. I was heading to the kitchen and suddenly began bleeding profusely. I soaked through my clothes, got blood all over the bathroom floor and couldn't get it stop. It was so scary, I literally thought I was going to bleed out in a matter of minutes. Thankfully, it finally started to slow down. An ultrasound showed that I retained some tissue after delivery (gross!) and passing it caused all the bleeding. They put me on medication which cleared everything up, thankfully.

  1. Good to hear you are recovering so well! And man I'm glad the breast feeding is working (and a little jealous) lol, So happy for you though! She really is such a doll!!

  2. Sounds like things are going well! Elliott had some trouble latching too, but now we have success and I'm hoping to nurse as long as I can. That bleeding thing is scary! I had a few scary moments, especially with this being my first time recovering. My mom told me that she had trouble recovering after having me because she over-did it, then was on bed-rest for a week! That got me to slow down right away. Take it easy and I can't wait for more updates.

  3. How scary with the bleeding! I'm glad you're ok. The sibling shot is precious!

  4. She is beautiful and your boys are as handsome as ever! I'm sorry you are having issues, but I am glad you are taking it easy. We pray for you and your family every night at dinner! (and I pray for you all at night) I love the headband! She looks adorable! And the tutu is so perfect!!!
As for the latching on, I have zero experience with that, but I know my sister has had issues. My mom never had issues (I hope I follow in her steps). Do you pump as well? My husband wants to be able to feed our babies too... I want to make sure they "latch" before I start pumping because I hear of confusion. Have you had any experience in this area? If so, when you have time, let me know. Also, do you have a time frame you nurse each child or do you let the child make the decision up to a certain age? I'm starting to really start thinking about these things since children are more of a reality in the near future for us.

  5. so happy you're recovering well. these pictures so adorable. thanks for sharing love. If you get a second I'd love to hear what you think of my latest ring obsessed post. xo

  6. Sarah- I do have a pump (manual one), but they say to wait 3 weeks till you start pumping. I pump when I need to go somewhere and have to leave the baby with someone else. I also will do it, if I know I'm going somewhere and it will be hard to nurse. T think Andrew had a hard time because he was early, but the other two kids were fine. I use pacifiers and luckily none of them ever go confused.

I usually have a "goal", but every baby is different. Andrew weaned himself at 6 months which my doctor said is really common. I'm just going to play it by ear with her. She will be the "baby" of the family for a few years, so I don't mind nursing her up to a year. I'd like to at least make 6-9 months.

  7. Gorgeous pictures of her!! She's so beautiful!
That sounds so scary about the bleeding.. glad they got it figured out! I would have been panicking!

  8. I'm so glad you're recovering well! Oh you are such a lucky mama! Your baby girl is PRECIOUS! And so perfect :)

  9. Your babies and pictures are just beautiful! Sounds like they are just little blessings :) sorry about your bleeding! How scary! Thank God all is well now! In my prayers beautiful!!'

  10. She's so precious. I know I've said that before, but only because it's true!

  11. She is beautiful! I am so sorry you had to go through that bleeding issue. I am glad you are all better now.

I hope that she will let you nurse her for a good 9 months or more. It is so good for her body and yours as well! I know that my method is so old fashioned. But one of my main reasons for delaying solids is to prevent an early weaner.

I loved to see how blonde Andrew's hair looks! That is so sweet.

How cute those ballet shoes are! Does she have a little dimple!? How cute is that!
