Soccer Camp

The boys attended a week long soccer camp called Soccer Squirts the last week of July.
It was soooo hot that week. Christopher did the same program last year and really enjoyed it. It taught a lot of good skills and they played team building games. I was surprised by how many technique and coordination skills they were able to learn in a week.
Going into this year, I had high expectations and was a little disappointed. It seemed liked the Coach this year didn't do as much with them. He kept wanting to huddle and talk, rather than let the kids play. Then he had a hard time keeping the kids on track and focused. They didn't play any of the skill building games either, just running and kicking the ball :/
The boys had fun though.
Evangeline liked watching from the sidelines with me. It was so cute to see how proud Andrew was of himself at the award ceremony!
They gave shirts, a soccer ball, and awards at the end of the week to each of the kids. Plan on doing the same program next year, but hoping they get a new coach! :)

  1. It is really nice that you are committed to taking the time and energy to do such activities with your kids. It means so much to them.

  7. That's right, start em now and they'll be in the Olympics before you know it. ;)

Sorry the coach isn't as good as last year but I'm glad they had fun anyway. Your boys are so handsome!

  8. Woohoo! Oh yeah, my husband coaches and it's one of his pet peeves when coaches TALK instead of the kids learning by doing. Then by the time they're older they just stand there awaiting instruction when they should be warming up, shooting around, etc.! Good observation!

Of course, the fact that they enjoyed it means a TON, though!
