26

It's official, I'm 26 (gross). The start of my "late" twenties. How did I spend my birthday? Photographing a wedding:) The day before? Photographing another wedding. The day after my birthday? A family session. Good thing I love what I do.

I plan to do a little clothing shopping and maybe go out to dinner (a big deal since we NEVER eat out with our budget). Chris' birthday gift to me is painting our study. It looks exactly like when we moved in. We're painting it Dynasty Celadon by Behr and creating a large gallery wall in there with black frames and two canvases. I used my "birthday money" from my parents for the canvases and they will be the first in our house. Photos of that project to come.

My MIL got me this hair straightener. Let me tell you, it's a life changer!! I"ve never owned a "real" one, just a cheap $20 Conair from Target. It's SO  lightweight (made of titanium) and the blades are so thin you can get super close to your scalp. I only used it on medium low and it straightened my hair in 15mins (before it took 45mins-1hr). It also made my hair so shiny and silky. It uses negative IONs to seal the hair. Anyway, LOVE IT.

  1. happy belated birthday!!!! I've always wanted to try a straightener -- wonder what it would do to my stick straight hair.

  2. I'm only two months away from 27, which I can't get my mind around. I still think of myself as 24, which is way off the mark. Happy belated birthday and I can't wait to see pictures of the study!

    1. Isn't it funny how we have "ages" in our head? :0

  3. I'm kinda feeling weird about turning 28 in January. I feel like in my head I'd be further along in some aspects of life by now...more kids etc. I know it's not a race, but I can't help but feel like I don't have that many child bearing years left and we want more than 2 kids. Haha sorry I'm not helping. Happy b-day and glad you like the straightener!

    1. Oh now I feel guilty like I'm making people feel old. In terms of child bearing years, I think you're good ;) People start much older and have a good amount of kids. Plus, when you say stuff like that God has a funny sense of humor and maybe you'll end up with multiples.

  4. Happy Birthday! 26 isn't so bad! I've always been the youngest in my group of friends so I was excited when I turned 30 so we could all be in the same "decade" together!
