Fake Hair

If you follow me on instagram (@theblogofmj), you've seen my new FAKE bangs! After I had Evangeline, I lost a massive amount of hair, especially around the front of my face. For a long time it was too bad to even wear a pony tail. I toyed with the idea of getting bangs to hide the patches of missing hair. The problem was I didn't even have enough hair to get them cut. Then I saw these on The Daybook!
Jessica Simpson Hairdo
It seemed like the perfect solution. I could get bangs without cutting my hair and the price was really reasonable at $24.
I ordered R4 Midnight Brown. They are pretty dark, nearly black. They are a little too dark for my hair, but not noticeable. The next shade down was too light. They come in a clear reusable bag, but be sure to hold them against your hair still in the bag before you open them! Once you open the bag, they can NOT be returned.
They are good quality and have lots of texture (the cut is perfect). You can wash them, cut them, use heat products on them and position them at different points on your head to adjust length. It's not human hair, so it can not be dyed.
My only complaint is that they are very shiny when you receive them, like doll hair. I heavily baby powdered them which dulled the shine and lighten the hair which I liked. You can also spray them with dry shampoo to help.
They have 3 clips (top, left and right). In the photo above you can see the clip open. If you turn the hair over and bend the clip backwards it will open. Once the clips are open, you attach to your hair and then snap shut as seen below. They hold super tight with no sliding or looseness. I mean they stay put!!
Here I am modeling them. I should have been sponsored for this post since it's so detailed!
Let me know what you think!

  1. I love them!!! I might just have to put them on my Christmas list!! I don't want to get bangs cut, but I do want to hang bangs for certain looks.
You look awesome! I didn't realize they were fake until someone commented. I just thought you had your bangs cut! Cute!

  2. Awesome!! What a great solution to a problem many woman have. I love bangs but unfortunately have a cowlic right in the middle of where they should be. It doesn't stop me from getting bangs every couple of years but then I just get tired of having to style them, way too lazy for that.

    You look great!

  6. Oh my goodness these are amazing !!! Just what I need as I have a cowslick which make my hair impossible to style. I got bangs twice in my adult life and both times it was a complete disaster, I couldn't tame them and they parted right down the middle. Thanks for sharing !

I am holding a giveaway worth $50 over at my blog today
